Сума делителей числа. Для початок наведемо експериментальний матеріал (який було отримано з допомогою програми Derive (за такою формулою 1.(см.ниже)): перебування делителей числа «a», програма ділила число «a» інші числа Тепер побудуємо графік. Якщо нашої формулі зустрітися ?(0), то, оскільки його значення саме собі є неопределённым, ми повинні підставити замість ?(0) аналізованих число n. Примеры:

Взагалі, знайти суму всіх делителей числа можна з допомогою канонічного розкладання натурального числа (це вже зазначалося). Суму делителей числа n позначають ?(n). Легко знайти ?(n) для невеликих натуральних чисел, наприклад ?(12) = 1+2+3+4+6+12=28(это привели вище). Але у досить великих числах відшукування всіх делителей, а тим паче суми стає важким. Зовсім інша річ, коли вже відомо, що канонічне розкладання числа n таково:[pic]. Його делителями є всі числа [pic], котрим 0? ?p.s? ?p.s, p. s = 1, …, k. Зрозуміло, що ?(n) є сумою всіх таких чисел що за різних значеннях показників ?1, ?2, … ?k. Цей результат ми матимемо розкривши дужки в произведении.

Він був із англійських математиків, почали займатися математичним аналізом. Йому належать багато позначення і терміни, застосовувані нині у математиці, зокрема знак? для позначення нескінченності. Валлис вивів дивовижну формулу, представляє число? як нескінченного произведения:

Валлис багато займався комбінаторикою і її додатками до теорії шифрів, не безпідставно вважаючи себе родоначальником нової науки — криптологии (від грецьк. «криптос» — таємний, «логос» — наука, вчення). Він був однією з кращих шифрувальників свого часу й за дорученням міністра поліції Терло навчався республіканському уряді Кромвеля розшифровуванням послань монархічних заговорщиков.
З функцією ?(n) пов’язаний ряд цікавих завдань. Например:
1.) Знайти пару цілих чисел, які відповідають умові: ?(m1)=m2, ?(m2)=m1.
Деякі їх не вдається вирішити нам навіть з допомогою формули (*). Приміром, не інакше як добором можна знайти числа, котрим ?(n) є квадрат деякого натурального числа. Такими числами є 22, 66, 70, 81, 343, 1501, 4 479 865. Ось ще два завдання, приведені в 1657 р. П'єром Ферма: 1. знайти таке m, котрій ?(m3) — квадрат натурального числа (Ферма знайшов не одне правильне рішення це завдання); 2. знайти таке m, котрій ?(m2) — куб натурального числа. Наприклад, однією з рішень першого завдання є m = 7, а другий m = 43 098. З допомогою програми Derive, я спробував знайти ще рішення і маю якесь нічого немає. (я розглядав ?(m3) = n2, де m приймає значення від 1 до 1000, а n від 1 до 5000 один.) і також саме 2.)).
